Poor is Spirit

We engage in acts of service and kindness, putting others’ needs before your own. We are generous and open-hearted because we recognize everything we have is a gift from God.
Sorry for Our Sins
Living with the attitude of sorrow for our sins does not mean feeling guilty or condemned. It means deep sorrow for our sins, heartfelt repentance, and being comforted by God’s mercy. We acknowledge our sins and understand the gravity of our actions. We feel genuine remorse for having sinned against God, and turn away from sin, asking for God’s forgiveness. We have a humble heart, recognizing our need for His grace and mercy, and we find comfort and joy in His forgiveness and reconciliation.
Meek
Living with an attitude of meekness means having a quiet inner strength by trusting God and being at peace with His will. It is a quiet confidence that allows us to respond to life’s challenges with grace and composure. We live humbly in a way that does not seek to dominate or control. We submit to God’s will, trusting in His plan, and rely on His strength rather than our own. We are gentle and calm, and when confronted with provocation, we use self-control to not lash out in anger or frustration. In our humbleness, we focus on serving others, rather than asserting our own needs.
Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness
Living with a hunger and thirst for righteousness means having a strong spiritual desire to live a life that reflects God’s character in all aspects of life. We actively seek right standing with God, and strive to live a holy life, aligning our thoughts and actions to God’s will. We are committed to justice and are unsatisfied with the disorder in the world; we hunger and thirst for justice and fairness in our actions with others. We recognize that true right-standing comes from God, and we rely on his strength and guidance to live a righteous life.
Merciful
Living with an attitude of mercy means having a heart that is open to giving and receiving mercy, to achieve a more compassionate and loving world. We are generous with forgiveness, letting go of grudges and extending grace to those that have wronged us. We are kind and understanding towards others, extending grace, because we recognize and feel compassion knowing that everyone has struggles. We avoid judgment and condemnation, and instead seek to understand and support them. We are empathetic and willing to help someone in need. By showing mercy, we reflect God’s character and His love for humanity.
Pure in heart
Living with an attitude of being pure in heart means striving to be sincere, free from deceit, and focused on God. We strive for a heart that is not divided by ulterior motives and is wholly committed to living a life that reflects God’s character. We live with moral integrity and strive to align our thoughts and actions with God’s will, seeking to honor Him in all aspects of our lives. We seek His will to experience a deeper relationship with him, and to share His love and glory with others.
Peacemakers
Living as a peacemaker means living according to God’s will; being loving, understanding, merciful, faithful, hopeful, joyful, and grateful. We actively seek to create harmony and resolve conflicts in a peaceful manner, working towards reconciling differences and bringing people together, rather than causing division. By being peacemakers, we reflect God’s character and His desire for unity and peace among His children. We find joy aligning with his purpose, reflecting his nature.
Willing to be persecuted for God’s kingdom
Living with a willingness to be persecuted means accepting that we may face hardships and challenges for the sake of God’s kingdom. We’re committed to standing firm in our faith and living according to God’s principles; despite knowing we may endure insults, slurs or other types of persecution. Despite the challenges and hardships, we are committed to honoring God through always seeking right standing with Him. When faced with persecution, we find joy and comfort in honoring Him with the same faithfulness that He’s promised to us.
