Welcome dearest readers to our very first post! The lighting of the first Advent candle means we have entered the week of Hope, and I can’t think of a better time to launch Horse Whisper’s Faith Notes.
Philippians 2:7 (ICB)
He gave up His place with God and made Himself nothing. He was born as a man and became like a servant.
Jesus went to incredible lengths to save and redeem mankind. He became mortal and suffered on our behalf, to show us the endless love, compassion and mercy that God has for us. We are not alone in the world! By lighting Advent’s Hope candle, we remember the light of Jesus can carry us through our darkest days.
Hope is more than just a wish; it’s the confident belief in God’s promises. Even in our toughest times, God is with us, watching over us. He wants to prosper us, not hurt us, so He will bring something good out of anything we face. He sent His son to show us that!
This week, I invite you to think often about what the hope of Jesus means to you, and that He’s always by your side during the tough stuff. This is also a great week to focus on shining the light of hope onto others.
Ideas for a Meaningful Week of Hope:
- Notice Christmas lights and the brightness that illuminates the dark.
- Think about Jesus’ character, and the light He brings to the world: love, compassion, justice, and forgiveness.
- Spread the hope of a kinder world through small gestures, such as a kind word, a helping hand, or even a smile.
- Spend quiet time talking to God and let Him fill you with the belief in His promises. Thank Him for the good things He has brought to you and tell Him about your hopes for the coming year.
God has a rich plan for our lives, and hope is found in believing in His promises. May your week be filled with the light of hope, guiding you towards peace, joy, and love.
